Thinking Out Loud (#ToL)

Extra.jpgWell happy fall ya’ll. I guess it’s about time although this does not make me happy AT ALL. I finally had to use some heat. I like it hot and would be just as happy to move farther South. I know I am in the minority.

I do, however, love all the fall stuff. As you already know, pumpkin, but now I’m ready for apple! I have tried (unsuccessfully) to make some yummy, but healthy, pumpkin stuff and so far I’m the only one eating it LOL. I guess I’m a little rusty…or I need to soften my “healthy” standards a tad. Thing is I’m reverse dieting. Do you know that is? Torture. That’s what it is! After 13 weeks of dieting and then deciding that the stars were DEFINITELY not aligning, and I made the decision not to compete this year.  I have now entered the reverse diet phase. Thing is I tend to blow it and I’m trying hard not to this time. I’m doing ok. But honestly, I always do ok in the beginning…since I’m saying out loud to all of you, I’M GOING TO DO IT RIGHT THIS YEAR! Who’s with me? I need someone to help me fight off that holiday cookie monster!

I’m currently struggling with whether or not to renew my personal trainer license. Honestly, I haven’t used it in years. I keep thinking I will. It’s not cheap and I picked the most boring continuing education EVER. UGG
This is hindering my ability to start a new book…and it’s book reading time of year! I just know if I do I’ll never get back to my studies.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to see Extra Mint Chocolate Chip gum! I bought them all! I used to have every flavor they came out with and then they just stopped…this is my absolute favorite!!! *happy dance*

So I heard Arby’s is coming out with a venison sandwich. Don’t ask me why I know these things. But damn I love venison! Think it will be worth it?

Hoping to make it to the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival this weekend.  Weather is supposed to be beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful!  And there’s food ha!

Ok gotta run so now I want to hear your Thursday thoughts and hope over and give Amanda a visit at Running with Spoons and a big thank you for the link up!

Week In Review

Good morning and happy Monday!  I love a Monday and a fresh start to a new week!

But first, a recap … and a thank you to Clean Eats Fast Feets for the link up!

So last Monday was a holiday…one in which I am pretty sure I amounted to nothing spectacular.  I did however manage to sneak Five Guys burgers and fries (link just in case you have never heard of this–apparently there are people who haven’t!) into my son’s school for he and a friend.  Yes, sneak.  Apparently, you are not allowed to bring in food from the outside but he says “other moms” do it all the time <

I baked cupcakes.  From a box :O  I can’t remember the last time I did that but damn Betty Crocker knows what’s up!  I will admit the taste was a bit ummmm different?

I finally bought some NuNaturals NuStevia Cocoa Syrup.  ISH IS EXPENSIVE!  I’ve always made protein “fluff” at night and used Walden Farms chocolate syrup (chemical syrup as my son calls it) and I heard lots of good things about this stuff.  First try–I loved it!  Used half the bottle–ok not really LOL.  Second time…meh…not as impressed?  Ever try something and think it’s wonderful and then once you settle down and reallllllly examine it, not so much?  Kind of like them men in my life HAHAHA!  Just kidding 😉

This month’s protein fluff brought to you by Optimum Nutrition: Chocolate Mint.  I never buy mint stuff but needed a change.  Badly.  I loved chocolate cake batter but can no longer find it and the chocolate is just not the same 😦  I also impulse bought this:

coolwhip1

Not bad but wouldn’t buy again.  Also ya know if you add a few mini York peppermint patties it’s fantastic!  Not that I would know 😉

I stocked up on some supplements.  I will be curious to see if my use of Citrus Bergamot and Krill Oil have helped my cholesterol.  As good as I eat and exercise, my cholesterol in the in the shitter!  I don’t know of any family issues but I also don’t know my father’s side.  So, I’m just trying to keep up on my good fats and some supplements I have researched and had others give props to.

Follow up on my Skulpt Collagen Peptides I got from my local MaxMuscle.  I said I’d report in after 30 days.  I’m halfway there.  I’m just amazed I’ve remembered to take it every day but one!  If you live in Fayetteville be sure to go over and check it out–tell Bill I sent you!  Oh, I also picked up some more pumpkin spice protein–and made a protein cheesecake.  It is chilling in the fridge as we speak!

I managed to have a good week nutrition wise.  My training however is just MEH.  Or it was until Saturday.  I finally had a fantastic leg workout.  Must have been the extra food on Friday. #Oreosforthewin #don’ttellmycoach  Food IS fuel!!!

I made a trip to Fresh Market.  I wanted one to come to town so bad and I think I have been 3 times.  And they have been open over a year.  Soooo expensive!  But the food…oh and the samples 😉  I bought a few treats but I’ll save those for WIAW so I can try some of them.

I had a few plans for the weekend.  None of which panned out.  It was still a great weekend although I did blow half my macros on Starbucks yesterday!  They had a new frappuccino–Dark Mocha–I love dark and I love mocha!  I did almond milk and no whip and didn’t get the big one (like I usually do) but as I suspected, I got home, looked up the info aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand had chicken and veggies for dinner.  Oh well.  YOLO.  My son got the salted caramel frap with everything and I had a sip…oh my!!!!!!!  Definitely good.

So how was your week?  Any new finds, foods, fun??  Tell me!

Buy More Save More site-wide at Ghirardelli.com! >Ghiradelli–my favorite!

Hey!  It’s Thursday!  You know what that means…linking up with Amanda over at Running With Spoons for the usual randomness for the week.

cinnpb

I got a new peanut butter!  Woohoo.  I belong to the peanut butter of the month club–don’t laugh–it’s a real thing.  I tested it last night.  It’s AWESOME!  But what peanut butter is not, eh?

I made a bunch of recipes this past weekend to share…none of them share worthy.  I’m going to try again this weekend.  I picked up some MaxMuscle pumpkin protein to test out too!  If you are local, visit Bill at Max Muscle in town and tell him I sent you!

pumpprot

If you see typos here, I swear it is not me!  My typing is apparently too fast for my computer HA!  It struggles to keep up some days!

BJ’s or Sam’s Club?  I asked on FB this morning.  So far, overwhelming support for BJ’s.  My Sam’s just ran out.  Honestly wish we had Costco but I don’t want to drive an hour for that.  Guess it’s time for a change!

Does anyone else’s teenager think they do not work for a living but are a personal taxi driver?  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Pumpkin spice Hershey kisses?  Yes please!

Fitness…I do believe this blog was/is supposed to be about that too LOL!  I guess ever since stepping away from the competition, I don’t feel it’s all that important.  And that’s ok.  Sometimes we all need a break?  And by no means do I mean I have taken a break from the gym–not likely!!  I’m trying to find an off-season training program that I can tackle with enthusiasm!  Unfortunately my macros didn’t get bumped this week 😦  My weight is up a bit and don’t want to pack too much too quickly.  It’s also hard to get excited about the gym when it is still 90 and ridiculously humid here and the gym doesn’t turn on the AC……….they never turned it on over the summer either.  Time to look for a new gym home I believe.

OK so there are my REALLY random thoughts this week.  What are yours? Share!

Thinking Out Loud

Good morning! I know I’m a tad bit late on Thursdays are For Thinking Out Loud but clearly we do this every day of the week–at least I do! Thank you to Amanda over at Running With Spoons for hosting! Some random thoughts and things…

It’s Friday!  I felt like yesterday should have been Friday but I guess you’ll have that.  I changed my check-in day with my coach to Thursday and since it’s been Friday for so long it just felt like Friday!  Now that I am in full off season mode and had a bit of time to digest the “I quit” mentality, I figured it’s ok to talk about it.  I struggled–a LOT to quit.  I didn’t really quit, but in my head I did 😦  Too many life changes, financial BOMBS, health issues and my son really wanting to make a trip home for the Holidays just kept making me feel like it wasn’t the best time to think about ME.  Bodybuilding is just a hobby.  It will be there next year.  It can only benefit me in several ways to give my body more time off…more time to grow cuz….FOOD ha!  In 14 weeks I managed to drop 22–yes TWENTY-TWO lbs.  Yikes.  I tend to get a little…fluffy in my off season time and every year I say I’m going to do better…stay tuned!

Enough of that.  Have you heard the guy sing the Subway song?  About a turkey sandwich?  I swear I can’t remember the last time I ate at Subway but hearing him sing about a turkey sandwich had me feeling some kinda way yesterday!  I think I was just hungry.

On that same note…Biscuitville in  Pawley’s Island, SC.  I’m going to need to make a road trip there if I see the chicken biscuit with spicy pimento cheese commercial on television one more time LOL!  The crazy thing is I hardly watch TV.  We have basic cable but I like my news.  Yikes I sound like my father.  Growing up the news was on every morning and every night and I complained and sighed really loud and now…………..I do this.  Funny how life is eh?  Some people don’t like to watch the news (it is rather depressing at times–especially lately) but I like to know what’s going on in the world–and I’m getting old and watch the weather 😀

lil buff

I won a thing!!  I never win.  Thanks to Aria Adamy, I won a Lil Buff Protein Cake Mix gift card.  You can find their website if you click on the their Instagram link or Aria’s–and some great recipe ideas.  And don’t forget to check out my Instagram while you are over there if you haven’t already.

I have some great shots of my fun photo shoot to post from last weekend too!

I have a HelloFRESH gift card sitting on my desk.  Has anyone tried this?  I’ve tried one of these services before but I don’t remember which one.  Unfortunately, as a family of two, ONE of us being a very HUNGRY teenager, there was enough food for one…on the family plan!  That “one” was not me.  I know what you were thinking–see above reference to fluffy offseason 😉

And on a final note………..my A** hurts.  I started a new training program last night.  I knew when I left the gym I was going to be sore.  #winning

OK I’ve rambled enough.  Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

What I Ate Wednesday

Today I am participating in my first What I Ate Wednesday–#WIAW thanks to Peas & Crayons.  Thank you so much!  I’m putting together a combination of what I am eating today, new stuff I’ve tried, recipes I’ve made, etc.

I mentioned the Almond Dream Pumpkin Spice and I finally got a chance to try it–I put it in my coffee—YUM!  I love everything pumpkin but pumpkin coffee, for some reason, is not my thing.  I bought pumpkin coffee for home…I guess I forgot that I didn’t care for it last year sooooo I’m mixing it with my regular.  My son is into Starbucks frappuccinos and he tried the pumpkin.  He wasn’t crazy about so I finished it 😀  But honestly…meh.  However, this stuff in my coffee was good!  I’m going to find some other way to use it this weekend.

More pumpkin–the RXBAR.  It was a typical date/nuts & stuff but still VERY tasty!

I also mentioned my love and awesome find while out of town–kabocha!  So I have a LOT of kabocha.  We’ve had kabocha, kabocha and more kabocha 😀  Kabocha pancakes, kabocha muffins and kabocha brownies LOL.  And I still have more to use!  So the brownie recipe calls for sweet potato and I’ve always wanted to make them–super simple recipe so I used the kabocha instead, peanut butter and cocoa.  Well…they taste AMAZING!  But nothing like a brownie.  I’m not complaining  😉

So muffins is what was for breakfast!

muff

Lunch is turkey.  I think I’ve mentioned before but Zaycon is the best.  For years I’ve ordered the chicken–40lbs–takes some work because I have to go home and portion and bag to freeze, but I love it.  I’ve also done salmon, beef, steaks, shrimp and my last purchase was turkey breast.  Meal prep could not be easier.  Comes in a bag.  Put it in a pan (frozen! no thinking involved LOL), into the oven, set timer for 2.5 hours.  Take out, cut bag and I have several meals for the week.  I love it!  Just click above and see if they come to your area–I promise you won’t be disappointed!

turk

Dinner will probably be leftovers.  I made these stuffed peppers at my son’s request.  Super easy to make them healthy–used my Lifetime cheese I mentioned in my previous post!

pepp

I tried a few other new things…the replacement for Coke Zero:

CocaCola

It’s ok.  I’m a diet coke fan anyway so no loss for me.

These Celsius drinks I keep hearing about:Celsius

This was ok.  I think I’ll forever be a Monster fan.  I just can’t help it!

And saving the best for last, the Oreos!

Oreo

I had one.  Such self control! HA!  Definitely 10/10.  I’m a fan of cookie butter period.

So share with me!  What did you eat today?  Any good finds?  Recipes?

Thursdays Are For Thinking Out Loud

lifeWOOHOO it’s Thursday, also known as Friday Eve 🙂  I have a lot of thoughts this week.  I’d like to know yours too…as always, linking up with one of my favorite blogs, Running With Spoons—thank you Amanda!

So the word of the week is impulse.  Ever make impulse buys?  Gosh I normally don’t but this week I’ve made three!  Hoping to be able to review them all and let ya’ll know!  Unfortunately one of them involved self check-out at WalMart where I charged myself three times for one item and didn’t realize it until the next day.  Like do you go back and say really I didn’t purchase nor eat three of these.  Yeah no.

So I was listening to the radio–Bob and Sheri they are my favorite!  So they were discussing 23andMe and ancestry.com.  Have you heard of these?  What do you think?  Like finding out you and your sister do not have the same father but your mother has passed so………..I don’t know.  I guess it might be interesting.  Maybe I don’t want to know LOL?

Another thing discussed on the radio was being born on third base and thinking you hit a triple.  I’ve never heard this before.  I thought about it all day ha!

So I’ve only driven one of those fancy push to start (side note–I have a friend with a tattoo of a red dot on his a** that says push to start under it :O) vehicles for about a year.  Huge adjustment for me and damn if some days I don’t pull in the parking lot at work and can’t find my keys.  Well dumbass you drove here!  Anyhoo…

So my views are up on my blog and I’m very excited!  It appears if I write, people read!  Who knew! ?

Ok enough thoughts for today or ya’ll might think I’m crazy and not come back 😀

What do you think about my thoughts?  What are YOUR thoughts?

Have a fantastic day!
